Welcome from Jodi Beck
Cofounder and President of womensforum.com Dear Friends, This Thanksgiving is going to be a very special one for my family as we are
going to have a house full of guests coming from all over the country: my
parents (Florida), brother, sister-in-law, their three kids (Arizona), my aunt
(Florida) and my cousin (Michigan), are all spending the holiday with us. And as much as I hate to admit it, I haven’t seen my brother and his family
since my wedding (four years ago) and since that time, my son and my nephew have
been born---so we have a lot of catching up to do as well as introducing the
kids to each other. Talk about a reunion! I’ve been planning my menu (and ever-expanding shopping list) for a few
weeks, plus trying to find fun things for the kids to do (hayrides, a trip to
the coast of Maine, etc.) plus fun toys and activities that they can do together
(read: without killing each other and tearing up the house—lots of luck,
right?) Luckily my son, Morgan, and my youngest nephew, Dylan, are just a few month’s
apart in age, so they will be able to share toys and hopefully not get into too
much trouble fighting over who gets to play with my son’s Alphabet Train first.
Yes, I am still on my Vtech Alphabet Train kick as it is really one of my son’s
favorite toys and as I’ve mentioned to you several times by now, just one of the
most fun, interactive, creative learning toys I’ve yet to discover. Another gem that arrived in my Vtech goodie box a few months ago, is the
Vtech Baby’s Learning Laptop. Just the right size for toddler hands, the laptop
is lightweight, colorful and features large, colorful keys that play favorite
children’s songs, light up, and teach common words and colors. Morgan just loves
it but I think Dylan is going to love it even more (will have to do a suitcase
search before they leave!) as he knows more words and simple phrases at this
stage. I’m holding it aside especially for him and look forward to watching him
play with it and even teach Morgan a new word or two. Well, we still have a few weeks to go before the big day, and I hope you will
visit our new Holiday Guide to
peruse our mouthwatering recipes, great gift ideas for shopping season that’s
just on our heels, and holiday decorating ideas that will bring even more warmth
and sparkle to your own home this season.
